Thank you very much for offering to write these great fandoms! I had to many great experiences these past Yuletides and I'm sure that this one will not be different. I really look forward to reading your story. :)

My fandoms this year are:
1. Tomb Raider - Lara and Sam - Something dark and/or fucked up and/or kinky because after Yamatai, who isn't.
2. Monkey Island - Elaine, Morgan, Guybrush - Morgan travels back in time to... marry Elaine? Do the trials with Guybrush?
3. Wonder Woman (2017) - Amazons, Hippolyta, Antiope, Diana - pre-movie Amazons on Themyscira and how they built their society.
4. a dark room (video game) - Builder, Wanderer - What a creepy and brutal world... tell me more!

About my likes and dislikes, not much has changed since last year:

I love Outsider!POV, I love femslash, especially this year! And I like gen and canon pairings, and for Yuletide I even enjoy more creative things - strange AUs, scenes from a bigger story, interesting formatting, other media, super long plotty adventure romances... And if you wanted to make all characters female, you could even go for that!

These are just ideas to give you some insight into what I would find cool or interesting about the setting and characters - if you have a totally different idea for what to write, I'd love to be surprised just as much!

I'm not too much a fan of Do Not Wants for myself, because it all depends on the story/your idea for me and if you have the gory/edgy/kinky idea that you think would work for the characters, go for it. I'd draw the line at anything with excrements/watersports, but as long as you treat a matter well, anything can work in a story. See note for kinks at the end of the post.

Here is my original sign up summary:

----

1. Tomb Raider - Lara, Sam

I'd love to read something dark here. Especially after what we see in RoTR and in the comics inbetween(*), I'd love to read something about fucked up Lara and/or Sam. Could be some super unhealthy relationship that Lara and Sam fall in after Yamatai; could be some old professors of her contacting them (Outsider POV? Epistolery?); could also be nightmares (and snuggles and calming couple or friendship kisses, if you want something softer).

I could also see some rewrite-style of the game with some love/sex trope like a/b/o or red strings or soulmates being marked up when the other gets hurt. You can definitely go wild and graphic here.

I'm also super pro-femslash with them, but feel free to write it how you feel comfortable.

(*)both of which you do not need to include or even know about.

----
2. Monkey Island - Elaine, Morgan, Guybrush

I'd love to see Morgan interact with Elaine in the first game. I could totally see some strange time travel Voodoo sending her back in time and she has all this knowledge about Guybrush, so she goes to where he is supposed to start his journey and he is there but such a failure - and there is Elaine and she is so similar to the jealous wife that Morgan met, but also super hot and super independent and Morgan follows in future!Guybrush's footsteps... If you don't want to go the femslash way - or maybe even if you do - Morgan and Guybrush could team up for the first fight against LeChuck and the trials! Feel free to make it nostalgic.

Alternatively, if you are not interested in going back to the first game - and don't want to just let Elaine and Morgan sexily work their frustrations with Guybrush out -, maybe some of Morgan's history - where does she come from, why is Guybrush such an inspiration to her, how did she grow up?

I love these characters and grew up with them (and I always wanted to marry Elaine but who didn't), so anything you write with them will be great!

---

3. Wonder Woman (2017) - Amazons, Hippolyta, Antiope, Diana

Here, I'd love to see something pre-movie. We see that the Amazons are not only fighters and we see some of Themyscira and we see the big picture of its history, but how did the Amazons get to this point, socially? How did they handle going from their creation to peace to enslavement to revolt to war and then end up having to build their own society on an island - that sounds like the recipe for some unrest and bad but learning experiences. I'm sure it was not "all quiet" on the island since its creation. What were the challenges?

I could see a focus on Hippolyta and/or Antiope here, or a random Amazon, or even some Outsider POV.

As for another idea, pre-movie Diana and her growing up beyond what we see in the movie would be great. Did she have friends? Who was her first kiss?

I'm very open to femslash here of course and if you want, feel free to make it explicit/kinky.

I don't know the DC canon for Themyscira at all, to be honest, so feel free to either stick to it, to remain within the the movieverse or to mix it up or make up something new. You don't need to use all the characters.
---

4. A dark room (video game) - Builder, Wanderer

Such a creepy game... I would love something twisted about that strange relationship between the Builder and the Wanderer. Maybe something ingame, like, how the world and their interaction and this would actually work from the perspective of the Wanderer or the Builder, and what they do with the Villagers and what their hidden motivations are. How brutal this world must be. Also, potential interaction with other Wanderers... other Builders maybe even?

I could also see this going meta, with a Builder that's self-aware enough to understand that it is in a game. If you want to go even more creepy, maybe the Builder is caught in the game? What about Wanderers (and Builders) when the gamer stops playing?

Ahh, so many possibilities. Feel free to make this very dark if you want. If you want to make it sexual and femslash-y, go for it.

---

If you want to make any story sexual, I also would not mind reading something with some more serious kinks as long as they are dealt with true to the characters. Please feel free to be explicit, if that's your thing - a/b/o, tentacles, BDSM, all these popular kinks are something I like to read. It doesn't have to be save, sane and consentual. I would likely not care about 1000 words of hyper-explicit necrophilia underage porn description, however I'm sure that's not where you wanted to go anyway. But some trope-y BDSM a/b/o? Go for it if you want! :)

First of all, thank you for matching with me and wanting - I hope! - to write for me. I hope I can inspire you a bit with my letter. I'm looking forward to reading your story. :)

My fandoms this year are:
1. Black Sails: Miranda Barlow & Captain Flint - Miranda did not die in Charles Town and she is coming for Flint (Zombie!Miranda?)
2. Far Cry 4: Ajay Ghale - Outsider!POV on Ajay messing up Kyrati wildlife and natives
3. Dishonored (Video Game): Jessamine Kaldwin, Emily Kaldwin, Corvo Attano, The Heart - Reverse engineered Heart: Jessamine is back at the end of the game, or is she?

I love Outsider!POV, I love femslash and gen and canon pairings, and for Yuletide I even enjoy more creative things - strange AUs, scenes from a bigger story, interesting formatting, other media, super long plotty adventure romances... And if you wanted to make all characters female, you could even go for that!

Edit from later: These are just ideas to give you some insight into what I would find cool or interesting about the setting and characters - if you have a totally different idea for what to write, I'd love to be surprised just as much!

1. Black Sails: Miranda Barlow, Captain Flint
Miranda opens her eyes to cannon fire and a buring Charles Town: Miranda did not die, but makes her way to a ship and finds Flint at the end of season two. How does she get there? Is she a zombie? Was it magic? Did Rhett's shot miss? Did she fake her death? Why is she after Flint? Could be sexy, or gory, or full of feelings.

2. Far Cry 4: Ajay Ghale
Son of Mohan, Hero of the Golden Path, that guy who keeps siccing rhinos on people: What do the common people of Kyrat actually think of Ajay and his antics? Does he ever have to clean up his mess? Does the Royal guard have nightmarish stories about him? Outsider!Pov would work well here. Or some alternative media? Once Pagan is gone, is there a footnote in a US newspaper about one of their citizens?

3. Dishonored (Video Game): Jessamine Kaldwin, Emily Kaldwin, Corvo Attano, The Heart
At the end of the game, for Piero and Sokolov, messing around with the Heart was just a side project while they worked on a cure for the Plague - right until they managed to reverse engineer the Heart back into Jessamine. But is it truly her? Does she look like herself or like a flesh-metal construct? Does she remember being dead? Or what Corvo has done in her name? How does she react to a traumatized Emily, would Emily even recognize her mother? Will Corvo confront the Outsider about his cruel idea of a joke?

Dear wonderful Yuletide Author!

First of all, thank you very much for writing for me. :))) I'll be extremely happy about anything you think of, so you can use this letter as inspiration should you need it, but don't feel bound by it. I haven't been given a single bad story in all the years I did Yuletide and I know for sure, like, a billion percent of being sure, that your story will be awesome as well.

Okay, here my requests:
1. Tomb Raider (Video Game) - Lara Croft
Badass!Lara either directly after the events of the 2013 game or later on.
2. Monkey Island - Guybrush Threepwood
Pirates (and Guybrush) as concepts in the MI world or the impact the characters (Guybrush or Elaine or whoever you want) made on it, if that makes sense :)
3. Clash of Clans (videogame) - Archer Queen (Clash of Clans)
I'd be interested in seeing something about the relations in the village, between the different groups and characters, or about the characters themselves and their role.

You can find my requests in long form at the bottom of this post again. :)

My past years letters are here: Yuletide 2013, Yuletide 2012, Yuletide 2011, and Yuletide 2010.
My username this year is tahanrien.

I feel like I'm really repeating myself in these letters, so I'll try to keep this one short and if you feel like you want or need more details, feel free to check out the previous letters or ask the Admins to contact me.

I prefer long stories, but also stories about settings and ones that dive into the feelings or connections characters made/have. Stories that explore the connections of the characters with each other or with aspects of their selves or with the setting, because that often falls short in canon. For example, I am a huge fan of the Outsider POV and of another side character recognizing how brilliant the main character is or how much they managed to get done, their impact in the world, their connections to places, this stuff. I love badass female characters. I'm super fine with sex and kinks that are not too extreme like, you know, the really extreme deep end of 4chan kind. I like femslash and gen most, then slash, and lastly het, though I noticed that with Yuletide stories, I don't really rate it that way - this is just my "normal", outside-Yuletide reading practice. I don't think it influences my requests this year, except maybe for the Tomb Raider one.

So yeah, thank you so much for writing for me. I'm looking forward to your story so much, you can't even imagine. I'm actually pretty sure it will make the holidays for me. No pressure, haha. :)) No, really, don't worry too much, don't stress yourself, I'll love whatever you go for.

And, thanks again. Most of all, I want you to have fun writing for me. That's it. :)))

Cheers
tahanrien

Dear lovely Yuletide Author,

thank you so much for writing something for me - let me say that in advance, I'll very, very likely love everything you write and I'm already super excited about reading your story. :))

To recap, this year, my wishes were for
The Heat (2013) - Typical fanfiction trope applied to Shannon and Sarah.
Gravity (2013) - Post-movie moments.
The Three Investigators | Die drei ??? - Their lives outside the detective work and how it is influenced by their work.
Monsters University (2013) - Mike or Sully as trans* character.
(My requests word by word are at the bottom of this entry.)

My past years letters are here: Yuletide 2012, Yuletide 2011, and Yuletide 2010.

I do have a question for you. I just saw another big bang (no name calling here), where the sign up for writers was at almost a hundred, the one for artists below twenty. And I was like, of course, why would an artist participate in a normal big bang? Isn't it super hostile towards artists? For me, that was clear: If anything, clearly an artist would like a reverse big bang better. But alas, I am no artist, but I have a few on my friendslist I think, so I thought I would ask them, aka: you.

Please only fill it out if you are an artist, know what big bangs are or could/would hypothetically participate as an artist in one.

I would rather participate in a

normal big bang
0(0.0%)
big bang with super nice rules for artists
2(50.0%)
reverse big bang
2(50.0%)

Thanks for clearing that up!

(Reverse Big Bang is when the roles of artist and author are switched, like, the artists start working first and their work is the central piece around which the later written stories have to resolve.)

Oh, guys, this here is so good: Bigger Than You Think
Just try it out, it really draws you in. The language and the feeling, even though it's just this naked black text, it totally manages to create an atmosphere and the story is pretty intriguing. Very well done!

NaNo
is going fine. Not brilliant, not good, but I'm not scratching at the last words over the limit either. I really like my story so far, it's very action-y, but writing it in English is kind of hard. Not in the way of writing it down, because there might be the occasional word I have to look up, but sometimes I just fill in the German one; but rather in not being able to reread anything. I know one shouldn't do that during NaNo, and I don't, but I can't even look back at the last sentences I wrote because I instantly notice so many mistakes in grammar and spelling, it's not even funny. But yeah, in itself it works fine. I managed 1k in about 25 minutes yesterday, which is more or less my "write readable/with few typos German" speed. :)

Anyway, the story is really fun. The LI is going to be introduced this chapter and yeah. All excited for that. I love writing contemporary fiction. You can describe someone by having the MC say he has "hipster hair", haha. I guess you could do the same thing for high fantasy, but I can't imagine how. "King Arthur hair"? "Dragonlord Rowan styled pompadour"? "Common soldier arm braces"? Well, I guess if you are really in the matrial you are writing you can, but so few people do.

Wish you all a verrrrrrry wonder- and wordful start into this NaNoWriMo! I'll be heading off to a Kick-Off in under an hour, and I hope your first words will be awesome as well. :))

As always, I still have much to plot, but I'll do that tomorrow morning. For now, I have around 10k of plot at the beginning that I can write, that should be enough.

Wheeeee~

No worries, I'd never ever filter my regular NaNo posts, because that was the reason I created this LJ in the first place in 2005, so, never, really. But! As my NaNovel is taking shape - so much plot, guys, so much plot - I thought about what I want to do with the raw text after writing and for backing it up and I realized: why not just throw it on LJ. But that would be every day, and that's really a lot to ask of you guys, so I'll create a filter for this.

So, here is the thing: If you want to follow my actual NaNovel text, every day a post in bad English, unedited, with tons of typos and mistakes that will make you cry and probably some German words sprinkled in when I didn't know the English one, tell me so in the comments.

I'll still do my regular NaNo posts, I'll complain, moan and shout, I'll swoon and be happy and I might post excerpts, all outside the filter, but the actual text from every day of writing will be in the filter. You don't have to follow that, only if you really really want to, I don't expect anything there. Only do it if you want to, because, really, it's so much spam, once a day and everything. :)
